What she is calling for might as well be called what it is. SLAVERY.

Can’t say I blame her, but something tells me if Obama and co decide her services are still needed the “Or Else” referred earlier in the thread will likely force her hand.

She needs to escape VA to a safer state if there is one.. (Texas is nice ATM)

Sound like “forced labor” to you? When did you read about that before, Nazi Germany?

http://www.conservapedia.com/Directive_10-289

Directive 10-289 (May 1, 2019), in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged, was an Executive Order drafted by Wesley Mouch, with the willing participation of James Taggart, Orren Boyle, Clem Weatherby, Floyd Ferris, and Fred Kinnon, and signed by Mr. Thompson, Head of State. Its eight points were an attempt to freeze the collapsing economy of the United States at then-current levels. Instead of doing that, it accelerated the decline, strengthened the case of John Galt and his friends, and hastened the ultimate collapse of economy and government.

Re: the ME doctors who dislike women; happens in Sweden, too. I had to go to a doctor (assigned by the town, thank you very much) who snarled when he talked to me. Lovely fellow from one of the hellholes in the ME. I made my husband call the town and have me reassigned to another doctor (major struggle) because the guy was such a POS. I had a good friend who was an emergency room doctor there and had all sorts of horror stories about ALL of the doctors, not just the ME ones. Seems that their work ethic was NOTHING compared to their “rights” to take things like their allotted 15 minute breaks in the middle of surgeries, etc.

Don’t you just love it when the government forces people to do stuff? It’s all fun & games until somebody gets shipped off to the gulag, or until thirty percent of your doctors retire.

I have to admit, I did (IIRC) see this on Drudge.

I move pretty quickly down a list of familiar sources looking for interesting morning stuff to read and Drudge is among them.

Short of chaining her to an exam table, I don't know how they are going to do that. They could take her license, but she would be out of the medical business, so I don't think she would mind.

It is a shame, because she is a highly trained and competent physician with twenty years left to practice. But all of that training and experience will walk out the door.

We can’t do this. Only if we do not pay for a service can we expect something.

That’s good to know. I have admired every MD I’ve had in the last 40 years.

I keep telling my wife, we need to form our own Landing Party. As the Engineer, I can be Scotty. Our Doctor friend can be Bones. I have a Scientist friend in mind for Spock, and my Brother would be more than happy to be Captain Kirk. My wife can be the alluring Lt. Uhura, though she draws the line at miniskirts.

We have plenty of openings for Redshirts.

when a 50+ physician retires, he will need two replacements.

Half of the young physicians are now female and many of them are married, raising children and work part time. If working conditions turn bad they will drop out of the work force completely.

see post 28.. That is likely how.

or they will use a family member so she will still be around if she calls their bluff.

Yes, I do think Obama and co would resort to this type of tactic for “the public good”..

Nobody can force doctors to use Medicare and Medicaid, because doctors can drop out of medicine entirely if they find these was too onerous.
