Just as it’s easier to get a job when you already have one, it’s easier to get a woman, when you’re already in a relationship.

Yeah, this was always the sad refrain of the pinch-faced 30-something feminists at the place I used to work. The ones that wasted their 20s dating the "bad boys."

Yeah, thick hypocrisy isn’t uncommon.

“The way I like to put it, there must be a story. (Men marrying in their late thirties and older ought to have a story, too.) “
Lol. I’m gonna need a real good one. Or would, if I had any desire to work through this “Boy Meets Girl era of mirrors and muddle”. Belonging to Christ is my realized dream. How thankful I am, though, to have been blessed in that dream through many godly couples! If Christ is head over it, Marriage is a transcendent union.

I was never so alone as during my 10 year marriage.
There probably are good men out there, but at this point, I prefer my own company. There is no risk of acquiring some vile disease, I never make the mistake of relying on someone who does a half-hearted or inept job of something critical (the ex talked down to mechanics; they tended not to fix cars properly when he took them in, but since I treated them with respect, cars got fixed when I took them into a shop), I never have to explain the jokes in movies, I never have to share the embarrassment of someone else's poor manners in public, and I don't worry about someone stealing from me (not every state cleans out the finances of men--I was cleaned out when I was divorced, and there are men who just too inclined to assume ownership of my stuff).
Now, I like men to work with, and I get along with them just fine. Most of my life has been spent working primarily with men. But the chance of them trashing my personal life is not one I am willing to take.

I’ a little curious about men that seem angry/jealous about what they label “the bad boys”.

I prefer my own company After reading your post, my guess is that you don't have to work very hard at that, that man that married you and is gone now, is probably it.

Personally I wouldn’t be so harsh. If she met the right person I think she would reassess everything, it’d be okay.

Truth be told, a woman could marry a complete and total nerd (as I did) who, when he hits midlife, then decides he wants to be a "bad boy." So, there are no guarantees in life.
OK, carry on, everyone.

If you want to find a man who will treat you like a princess, as if he would never ever have another woman??
Find a lonely fat nerd!

Read her post again, it is not the usual complaining between the sexes and about exes, it is a very harsh condemnation of all men and in a bizarre, even inaccurate, hating way, that seems unique to that poster, as though she doesn’t know men at all, and she makes clear that she never will.
Men don’t get jokes? Men steal from their girlfriends and wives? Men are inept when handling getting cars fixed? Are an embarrassment to their wives in public? Men “trash her personal life”? Men carry “vile diseases”? there are “men who just too inclined to assume ownership of my stuff”?
Where does she live, in some Mad Max, post apocalyptic world? A village of Hell’s Angels?
She sounds like a woman who had a relationship once, and then went back into her exclusive ‘self’ world, of the perfection of being alone.

Probably dates those “bad boys” some girls always seem to like for no good reason.

Good advice. I found a lonely nerd, but I guess two out of three wasn’t enough.

Obviously, you’ve never read the nasty things some FReeper men say about women around here.
Her post was mild compared to them.
