IMO, the house should be led by someone not from the house. It does not have to be a congressman at all. Someone who can verbilize a postion, not look like they are trying to duck under the table and one who has the moxey to keep the onus on the POS in the whitehouse and the one in the senate. There are any number of names that could qualify, recognizing they are number two in line to the CIC. Public commentators like Rush need not be considered as they are too controversial but someone with some government background, conservative, and willing to listen to like minded people would be best suited for the role. Names like Palin, Rubio, Paul, come to mind but there are a host of others.

Seeing how easy it was for the democrats to change the rules to solidify the liberal agenda for the next couple of years at least...

Changing the rules for who is to be #2 and Speaker of the House of Representatives I imagine could be done...But seeing how you have to be elected to be a congressman, the Speaker is obviously drawn from those ranks...

Because they are accountable for their actions by the constituencies they represent, AND the other Representatives in that chamber...I do not see a way around the absolute corruption that could become, of placing an non-elected outsider, removed from partisan political affiliation...

An interesting thought, but I feel it will be used against us, more than it would help the overall situation...
