I expressed my opinions further in Reply #63. If it ever came to actual war I personally believe that just like the Civil War the regulars and others with military experience would take sides.
Those leaving the government have the experience and should lead.
Civilians putting together an army from hastily formed local militia like in the Civil War just won't work today it seems to me.
