For global warming believers, 2013 was the year from Hell
Financial Post ^ | December 19, 2013 | Lawrence Solomon

2013 has been a gloomy year for global warming enthusiasts. The sea ice in the Antarctic set a record, according to NASA, extending over a greater area than at any time since 1979 when satellite measurements first began. In the Arctic the news is also glum. Five years ago, Al Gore predicted that by 2013 “the entire North polar ice cap will be gone.” Didn’t happen. Instead, a deflated Gore saw the Arctic ice cap increase by 50% over 2012. This year’s Arctic ice likewise exceeded that of 2008, the year of his prediction. And that of 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Weather between the poles has also conspired to make the global warming believers look bad. In December, U.S. weather stations reported over 2000 record cold and snow days. Almost 60% of the U.S. was covered in snow, twice as much as last year. The heavens even opened up in the Holy Land, where an awestruck citizenry saw 16 inches of snow fall in Jerusalem, almost three feet in its environs. Snow blanketed Cairo for the first time in more than 100 years.

USAToday ain’t giving up.

Just this week they had stories on record rises in coastal seawater levels in the US AND record high temps in Russia.

Al Gore may be “deflated” by the increasing ice, but he’s grown filthy rich on his environmental scams and the sale of his Green TV station to Al Jazeera.

They say that most Greenies are like watermelons—green on the outside, red on the inside.

Leftist Al reverses this—he’s red on the outside, and green on the inside.

All the “warming” somehow got into the deep parts of the ocean.

Go to the FR link and then listen to the Joe Bastardi summary where he puts the lie to the global warming type's claim that this past November was the warmest on record. Oh, and make sure you have your heaviest winter wear available for the end of the month!

The MSM just won’t let this die.
Too much invested in it I guess.
Like all these deals, a tough slog to refute.
I will give them credit for an adroit switch from “global warming” to “climate change”.
Now every friggin’ storm is a “crisis”.

Starting in 2013, though, their excuses have been wearing thin. China’s Suntech, the world’s largest solar panel manufacturer, has now filed for bankruptcy, as has LDK Solar, another major firm. Sinovel, China’s largest manufacturers of wind turbines and the world second largest, reported it lost $100-million after its revenues plunged 60%, and it is now closing plants in Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

Sweet little gem buried in the article

BTW, your linky is bad..

According to the International Agency, coal’s dominance will especially grow in the countries of the developing world, helping to raise their poor out of poverty as they modernize their economies.

Hah...Libtards drone on about how "green energy" will raise the poor out of poverty where in most cases he drives them into poverty because their few resources are sucked away into green boondoggles...

I’m not so sure the news about arctic ice is accurate, the folks who track it don’t show the record ice the article talks about.

Oh and in the charts, “anomaly” means “difference from average”.

Any large expanse of ocean, even at the Equator, where the sun’s direct influence is most intense, grows colder with the depth, from 500 to 1,000 meters down, until the temperature reaches a steady level, approximately 38 degrees Fahrenheit or 4 degrees Centigrade It is at this point water is most dense, and sinks to the lowest points of the ocean. Upwelling from the depths brings this cold water near the surface, and has an overall COOLING effect on the greater part of the oceans, and consequently on the atmosphere that lies above the ocean surface.

There are deep currents, caused by the melting of polar ice, which is at 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 degrees Centigrade but it is LESS dense than the cold saline water that lies beneath it. It too is warmed to the warmer saline surface currents, but the warmer saline water is LESS dense that the less saline meltwater, which sinks BELOW the warmer saline water, causing a vertical mixing and a new dynamic for current flow.

The whole point is, that the deep parts of the ocean are NOT subject to warming, no matter what Al Gore says. Even if an underwater volcanic vent opens, and water seeps down to the magma, the water will NOT turn to steam, but is ejected under great pressure, cooling rapidly as the hot water (which may be close to 700 degrees Centigrade), but making little upset to the overall temperature of the depths. The pressure is so great the water cannot become steam, and is cooled long before it could effect much stirring at great depths.

But in a localized area of relatively shallow ocean, such as the Arctic, enough of this very hot ejected water may reach the underside of the polar ice the cause melting from beneath. This is not in fact global warming, but global COOLING, as the pressure valve is popping off. Doesn’t have a darned thing to do with humanity, and it cares not one whit about polar bears.

In case one wonders how there could be undersea vents in the Arctic Ocean, part of the Pacific “ring of fire” extends up into the undersea parts off the coast of Alaska and Siberia.

If we did not have a crooked justice system Al Gore would be in jail for fraud.

A very good video, thanks.
Funny he should mention 1994, I was at the GM Cold Weather Test Facility in N. Ontario in Jan 1994 and it never went above 0F until late in the month. -30F or lower most nights.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/12/16/global-warming-satellite-data-shows-arctic-sea-ice-coverage-up-50-percent/

Here’s the link to the statistics the article was referring to. It’s true, the ice coverage in the Arctic is 50% greater than last year according to Europe’s Cryosat spacecraft.

I don’t think so, the justice system didn’t send previous failed prophets of doom like Charles Taze Russell or William Miller to the hoosegow.

Errant religious prophecies are usually exempt from fraud prosecution, and “global warming” is a religion.
