Hmmm. May shed some light on an acquaintance that presented with flu-like symptoms, was found unresponsive, and is in an induced coma due to renal failure. Coos County, OR.
I am sort of thinking that even cash will be useless. Canned corn or potable water, now that is another story...
Yes, the ones in this county had kidney failure and also the man in Fort Worth. Yours in Oregon is very likely H1N1 due to having kidney failure. I hope he lives. I don't know of any who lived if they had the kidney failure. It sounds like the kidney failure happens into the illness near the time of death. I hope I'm wrong about that.
I think I'll make some tuna salad for sandwiches for now and for tomorrow. I've got numerous cans of chicken and real ham and Spam (which I like fried with mustard on a sandwich), and Salmon, etc. Leaving my house is too much risk right now for me.
He’s got a DNR. I heard he even refused to be entubated. That’s taking things a bit far. He isn’t even 60.
If he didn't have enough oxygen going to his brain, they would have intubated or put him on a respirator. They were trying to get enough oxygen to his brain to prevent brain damage.
When my husband had cancer and was in numerous hospitals, I carried the original copy of a medical power of attorney so if he couldn't speak, they had to do what I said, which was every single thing they could do to keep him alive. He had said when I was absolutely sure he was totally brain dead, then I could have them turn off the gadgets.
With a medical power of attorney, the hospital couldn't do jack until I told them they could do whatever. My husband knew I would never give up doing what he wanted.
