Seems unlikely that the person would remember specific people from 1985. I did a lot of paperwork for people over the years and could not imagine remembering something so specific that long ago. Hopefully the conservatives don’t jump on this and believe it. If it was 2005 or later…maybe.

Considering they’re related, it seems likely she’d remember him well. Whether she’s credible is another story.
Strange names stick in peoples heads all the time. I am sure there are a couple of strange names on paperwork that if you heard they where running for POTUS you would remember them right away. Barrack Husien Obama is a strange name, very strange in 1985.

In general I agree with you. I don’t remember much about the 80’s and it wasn’t drugs or alcohol it was just a blur - busy working and raising kids. However, I do run into people from time to time that have almost perfect memories in one area or another. My neighbor cannot find his keys most days but he can tell you in great detail about every vacation he has been on for 60 years. One of my aunt’s is a nurse. She recalls virtually every patient she has ever seen but cannot tell you where the mayonnaise is. So as to the person in the OP remembering Obama wouldn’t surprise me anymore than if she was just looking to be the star for 15 minutes. Humans are strange critters.

I think a persons memory is a very individual thing and varies for different persons depending upon the influences. I can remember names of college classmates and other persons going back 60 plus years.
