I saw this coming years ago when every sitcom turns into a chance for male-bashing. Some advertisers will go out of their way not to include white males, when even children, in their commercials. When they do portray white male children, the child is often standing alone, while the other children associate in pairs and activity groups. Most Colleges around here advertise showing only women and only girls, as though it were a sorority. The advertising embeds the notion with some people that higher education is only something women are interested in. Now the colleges don’t understand why so few men are applying to get in. Duh!

The commercial for some cholesterol drug is a perfect example.The “man” in the commercial acts like some kind of combination of a fifteen year old girl, a small child and a nitwit. His wife and young son look on indulgently.
