College coaches can have great success like Pete Carroland Chip Kelly to name a few. Jim Tressel is a brilliant man and a serious leader. He would succeed.
I admit I am partial as I have been saying that he is destined to coach the Browns since he began coaching at Ohio State. I was a big fan of his since he was at Youngstown State.
I long held the belief that he is the man destined to break the “Cleveland Curse”.
Carrol had a mixed record prior to landing in Seattle... showing that his first HC job and the next were where he learned the ropes. He also had some NFL experience prior to landing the head jobs. Tressel does not.
I wouldn’t call Chip Kelly a great success this year. Yes, the Eagles are in the playoffs but the NFC East was a train wreck. We’ll see how he does going forward.
I see Tressel as another Mike Shanahan... too stubborn and old-school to be successful leading today’s players.
Besides, I don’t want to watch a team of gentlemen on Sunday, I want to watch a team of killers who try to destroy the other team on every play. Tressel isn’t putting that team on the field every Sunday.
