It's a trap. Reid will accept unemployment benefit proposals from Republicans, then on January 15, hold them in his hand angrily, denounce them, and scuttle the Continuing Resolution, blaming REPUBLICANS for another shutdown.

Mark my words.

Why can't anyone but me see it?
