I loved the movie but it bothered me in a number of ways.

Why didn’t they have a better means of communicating with friendly forces?

Why were only 2 Apaches on hand for both Army and Marine air support?

Where were the A-10’s, Cobra’s, Kiawa’s and other forms of air support?

I was just really bothered by the limited number of assets these guy had available to them.

It wasn’t the first time that crap happened. obama’s roe have caused more American deaths during his tenure than the whole rest of the war in Afghanistn. And mccrystal, petraeus, and allen helped.
THEY should be tried for war crimes against our troops.

Answer: Obama failed to support our troops in the field!!! Example: You don’t think most Roman Emperors fought their battles directly....they listened to what their Generals said what was needed....gave it to them, and then the Generals went out and took care of business!!! Obama hates the military command and the military in general. He could care less as to what happens to them!!

It also bothered me that he made that decision. The Lone Survivor made the decision to allow their enemies to walk own that mountain. Luttrell sealed the destiny of those 19 people who died. May sound harsh; but that is reality.

They were operating in a remote area of the Kunar provence in the extreme eastern part of Afgn. They were most likely beyond the reach of Khandahar air assets, relying on support from their Forward Operating Base. Same for their radios, blocked by mountains and distance. They should have had satellite comms though.

Just to make it perfectly clear, this happened in 2005, under Bush’s watch. The house and the Senate were both Republican majority. The amount of troops and assets in Afghanistan were miniscule for the mission because of the Surge in Iraq.

But, to make it perfectly clear, the Obama ROE’s have made it far worse.

Yes , me too ...on all points

AFG was not yet ramped up in those days . We were heavily engaged in Iraq . I would have supported extensive use of FAEs in those mountain valleys and sorry about the collateral damage .
