The “delta smelt” issue is a ruse to dump water into the Bay in order to control water supply. In years where there is a huge snowpack, they dump even more water into the Bay, continuing to ration water even when there is a surplus. The delta smelt is not even indigenous.

true but it’s hardly “full up” - most population is concentrated around major coastal cities.

California is a lot bigger than Israel

And California also has more coastline than Israel.

Collectivists love shortages!

I've noticed that too. They like making people wait in line, perhaps because the suffering applies equally to everyone.

The heading in my blog post is way better than the heading from that article. My heading shows that California has chosen to have a water shortage.

Desalinized water can be transported through pipes as far inland as is needed for the farmers to get it.

If HB did a de-sal plant they could pipe the water from the end of the Santa Ana river about where it meets the ocean and not have to filter out nearly as much salt. All the natural sediment and fauna in the channel will have filtered out much of the filth that enters the river so their job would be partially done before they’ve even begun. It could probably be merged with the existing water facility at the end of Bushard Street so there’d be no additional footprint.

CA has to be split into at least three states. It is just too big. I know it would mean mostly Dems in congress, but it simply cannot manage itself any longer.

The same with the other large states. Yes, Texas too.

Thanks. They do have others too. But they don’t have nearly enough.
