The only thing surprising about this story is that seven Senate Democrats broke from Obama to oppose this nominee. Could they be running for re-election this year and vulnerable? Wow, they're not even giving their names in the article. Wonder why.

Another silver lining: Harkin, the Dem senator playing the race card here, is retiring at the end of the year.

The long over used “race card” is the last refuge of a scoundrel. When that is played, it is a sure sign that the debate is over and lost.

“The only thing surprising about this story is that seven Senate Democrats broke from Obama to oppose this nominee. Could they be running for re-election this year and vulnerable? Wow, they’re not even giving their names in the article. Wonder why.”

I think that the reason for omission is simple. provide cover for these RATs.

Here is the list:
Democrats Bob Casey of Pennsylvania
Chris Coons of Delaware
Joe Donnelly of Indiana
Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota
Joe Manchin III of West Virginia
Mark Pryor of Arkansas
John Walsh of Montana
Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., also voted no in order to preserve his right to reconsider the vote.

When, oh when, Lord, will the Dumbocrats gifts to conservatives end?

Seven Demoncrats fell out of lockstep formation to ditch Adegbile....and suckup Harkin, playing the race card, as usual....is (thank you Jesus) retiring at the end of the year.

Demoncrats also getting the bum's rush: Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin of Michigan Levin, Tim Johnson of South Dakota and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia are set to depart when their terms expire. Finance Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont, is expected to resign early to become US ambassador to China.

Sap-happy Harkin went to Cuba and praised nationalized health care and low child mortality (stupidly failing to note forced abortions keep the numbers down----and Cubans are forced to ask US relatives to send thread and needles for impending surgery).

Needless to say, Harkin loves Obamacare.

SEN. TOM HARKIN (D-Iowa): “One of the things we put in the health care bill when we designed it, was the protection for consumers to keep the plan they have if they like it; thus, the term ‘grandfathered plans.’ If you have a plan you like — existing policies — you can keep them. … we said, if you like a plan, you get to keep it, and you can grandfather it in.” (Sen. Harkin, Congressional Record, S.7675-6, 9/29/10)

Every time a multi-term legislator retires or dies, an angel gets its wings.
