I have to say this. Working hard and putting aside money to provide for your family is not the same as spending money on ostentatious displays of wealth like buying a Cadillac represents. I have never equated the Protestant work ethic with gross consumerism and materialism. That is a dangerous path to tread for conservatives. After all, it was this materialistic idol chasing that laid the foundation for the anti establishment crowd in the 60s . It always has to be opposite ends of the spectrum it seems . Maybe because liberals do not corner the market on causing divisiveness. In addition and for the record, I have worked for a “non profit” organization for over two decades. We help people with developmental disabilities . You remember them? The ones that were kept like dogs in institutions before the “managers of nothing” took an interest in their lives. Mr. Limbaugh should get his priorities straight before throwing stones at people.

Your choice of Vocation is admirable.

I’m not sure what your ultimate point is, but as a Conservative I believe that I am entitled to the fruits of my Labor.

What I choose to do with my accumulated Wealth is nobody’s business. The Ad simply shows that hard work gets you what you want. Maybe that same person you see in the Ad would give generously to Charity in real life, as Conservatives are known to do.

Those donated Dollars allow people like yourself to work for “non-profit” organizations that help the less fortunate.
Life has never been fair and it never will be.

I spent the last decade caring for my Late Mother’s Sister who lost her Sight to Glaucoma in her mid 20’s. She just passed away at age 89 a few months ago. The last year was tough with her having to endure Dialysis Treatment 3 times a week. I was able to work around her schedule and spent 12 hours a week being there with her. It was an ordeal for her, but I did everything I could do to make it less so.

I also take care of my 91 Year Old Father. Thank goodness my Lifetime of Hard Work allowed me to Semi-Retire at age 60 so I would be available to assist my Elderly Family Members. I don’t know what I would have done if I was still working in my previous 24/7 Job for a Fortune 500 Company.

I have worked hard all my Life and saved my money. My choices in how I spend that money, just as Rush Limbaugh spends his, has nothing to do with being “ostentatious” and a Conservative to boot.

Rush gives away Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars a Year, much to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Foundation and other Charities including those that help the Children of Armed Forces Personnel killed in action while serving their Country. Are we supposed to care that he owns a Gulfstream G5? The Taxpayer’s aren’t paying his Bills, he does.

Again, I applaud your choice of service to your fellow Man, but it is YOUR choice. I found your Post accusatory, and I admit up front I might be mistaken on what your intent was. If so, my apologies. I am just reacting to what I perceive.

It comes down to the simple fact that we don’t really know what people do or how they feel. Because they choose to buy a nice Car, live in a nice House or buy anything that you deem “ostentatious” does not tell the whole story.
