I am for the good people of Ukraine banding together to form an independent nation of their own and no, Ms. West is not a Putin fan girl. :-)

A sober voice. She must be silenced. Let’s hit her with the “F Bomb” (feckless)!

She’s pointing out that Nuland and the EU idiots precipitated this confrontation with Putin.

Without giving him a pass you can still say that they handed him a pretext.

From what I’m reading Yanukovytch indeed won the election, largely because the opposition was incompetent and divided.

He then set about making himself Tsar. That’s what got the popular revolt going.

But that’s thin gruel. Gave Putin a fig leaf. And something to stir up the pro-Russian forces in Ukraine.

If he can’t have all of his Russian Empire back, he’ll settle for half of Ukraine. Appears to be working that today: Russian troops now in mainland Ukraine, North of Crimea, setting up a border.

Nuland and the pasty faced EUcrats didn’t think he’d do it.

Guess they found out. Poking the Bear made him wake up.

When I read “First, there are the players,” I thought I’d be reading a clear-eyed look at both sides. Did she mention Putin even once?

“Another player is the John Kerry State Department, whose public face in Ukraine has been Victoria Nuland’s. It is amazing to me that the “intercepted” phone call in which Nuland (recently of Benghazi talking points notoriety) sets forth her roster for the post-Yanukovych government hasn’t flowered into full-blooming scandal. Nobody in the media seems to care a fig. Is it really a good and Constitutional thing that American bureacrats seem to be secretly determining the makeup of foreign governments? Isn’t this a question worth some attention from, I don’t know, Congress?”

US Sub-Secretary Victoria Nuland was setting up the “new” Maidan-putschist government of Ukraine, as proven in this phonecall with US ambassador to Kiev Geoffrey Pyatt ...

Wilders is very right that Ukraine is a basket case whose economic problems are now going to fall at the feet of Dutch taxpayers.

I do find it disturbing, thee Nuland phone call. Surely she should be called into a committee for that.

Another point to mull: Roughly 25 years ago, when the Soviet Union was coming apart, the heads of these same Western states sanctioning Dictator Putin were all about shoring up Dictator Gorbachev and the keeping the Soviet Union glued together -- even as Red forces killed protestors in various places.

Can't be reminded of that enough. "Suicidal nationalism". The "joke" was that GHW Bush's biggest defeat was his failure to save communism.

Recently , leaked emails of Vitaly Klitschko (the boxer to be candidate for president in Ukraine that Nuland was talking about in the phonecall) are showing treason. Notice the emails datation (long before the coup d'état):
