Yes, Fred Phelps, a lifelong, fundamentalist Democrat, is dead...sadly fundamentalist socialism and the god of socialism still exists.

How much money did evangelical churches raise for Al Gore compared to the Phelps clan?

I agree that hates lives on, including in Mr. Turner’s column.

Uh... Seems to me that to call Phelps a fundamentalist is in error. After all, in my experience, the more fundamental a Christian becomes, the more Amish-like they are.

Nope... I prefer calling him a charlatan.

Cheers!

But when push comes to shove or a vote comes to the ballot booth, is their God all that different from Fred’s God?

I hate to tell em this but God is God. There is no their God or my God. God is god of all regardless of how one worships, who they worship, or even if they don't believe at all.

Do these pathetic bloggers think they will change the mind of the God who created the universe by their morally blind complaints? He does not govern the universe by polling what sinners think of Him.

The Phelps clan has done more to damage the cause of Christianity than an army of atheists cold have.

"fundamentalism masquerades under wide smiles, hipster garb, flowery poetic language, and synth-pop beats."

The same could be said of Progressive fundamentalism which masquerades under the pretense of education, compassion, and inclusion. And make no mistake, liberals have their own hipster garb, flowery poetic language, and synth-pop beats. The liberals have institutions "fundamentalist Christians" do not have and that is the schools, universities, courts and media. And most of these are state mandated and covered under the law.

Fred Phelps never supported a Republican or conservative in his life. He was a Democrat who visibily supported high-ranking Democrats for most of his life until they were embarassed to be seen with him starting about 15 to 20 years ago. He was a “Christian” cultist more akin to Jim Jones than anyone else. And yet the Left tries and tries and tries to make him a Republican or conservative poster child.
