Thanks for reading and commenting on the article. I’m truly enjoying the comments - even the personal attacks. They validate the intent of the articles which is to push the audience out of their comfort zone to the point of absolute madness.....encouraging people to think outside the box and voicing their personal opinions. I have to admit that the number of responses has been greater than predicted but welcomed nonetheless. This has been great!!! The reference to a blog pimp was hillarious - not very original - but hillarious nonetheless. Thank you! When I return to the states I will make an effort to read your blogs. I’m sure I will find them quite interesting.
You got it my friend. I believe that what worked in the past was based on the circumstances, cultural, technology etc, of the times. I believe we need a new way of thinking to better compete in a global market and maintain our competitive edge. whether an individual thought the past was good or bad is irrelevant in the larger scheme of things. the US economy is in trouble and if the US was a corporation we would have filed for bankruptcy years ago. I served 25 years in the Army in fields ranging from special forces, communications, civil affairs, administration, and cyber security. I currently work at a global company in the areas of information technology and I am a Foreign Service Officer in the area of Global Diplomacy. Technology has made this a small world and its getting smaller. If America is going to stand stall - outside of military strength - then we need progressive leadership who is not afraid to think outside the box and who can capitalize on the diverse skills of all Americans - despite ethnicity, race, or religion. I, like millions of Americans is looking forward to a stronger, more economically competitive America. ...and going back to the ‘good old days’ is not the way to accomplish this massive goal. Most comments are from a personal perspective which overlooks the larger problem.
And how brilliantly you succeeded, you whirling dervish of rapier-sharp intellect! Your artful tricks provoked me to levels of thought I never dreamed possible.
"....encouraging people to think outside the box and voicing their personal opinions."
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your efforts to safeguard, nurture, and ultimately refine the minds of Freepers. /S
You're kind of "hillarious", jxb.
Interesting comment. You have provided a great source of entertainment today. Thank you.
they were good men but unfortunately, products of their times.
Please, do feel free to ping me to your next thread.
Personal perspectives through life experiences are always interesting to those who care to read them.
You suck.
Don’t take the article or the responses too personal my friend. it’s just one mans’ opinion of the world. In the larger scheme of life - liberal or conservative, who really gives a hute about my opinon, yours, or anyone else when they conflict with individual perspectives.....certainly not our current government leaders! The article is not intended to bash America. I served 25 years in the Army and I currently work at a global firm specializing in cyber security and I also serve as a Foreign Service Officer in global diplomacy. Like you, I’m just another concerned citizen and I’m frustrated because I see my fellow military comtrades loosing their lives because of poor, selfish, borderline unpatriotic decisions of some of our current political leaders - from the presidents’ office to local governments. I travel internationally quite often and when I look back into America in comparrison to the world I see a troubled road ahead particularly where it pertains to foreign investments (takeover) and the national debt. Something is going to have to give. And it’s a shame to watch our military men and women lay their lives down just to watch the country slowly slip into the hands of those investors who do not have our best interests at heart. If my responses have been rude or disrespective please forgive me I’m just a frustrated citizen and I fear the future of my grand kids and this country. As a result - we need visionary leaders who is willing to step out of the box of normality and labels and do the right thing.
In the apparent absense of any form of intellect - your comment is an expected response. Thanks for cooperating in the dialog.
I agree.
You're welcome, you Reagan-bashing POS.
come on now - be nice! believe it or not I voted for Nixon and Reagan...but not John McCane - Sorry.
“Mans’ “ should be “man’s”
“Hute”(!) should be “hoot”.
“Loosing” should be “losing.”
“Presidents’” should be “president’s.”
“Disrespective” should be “disrespectful.”
“Grand kids” ahould be “grandkids.”
“Leaders who is willing” should be “leaders who ARE willing.”
That kind of writing and book learnin’ gets you a job in cyber security and global diplomacy? No wonder we’re in trouble.
well said
Being told that I'm offered an intellectual challenge by someone who cannot compose a coherent English sentence, habitually misspells simple words (while using a program with spell check no less) and posts responses to different posters using "copy and paste" somehow rings hollow.
But then I'm just stuck here sans imagination in the box.
(Time to let out the cat.....)
In Da Region we gots dis way wit werds - ya know?
(Uttered with as much nasal tonality as possible.)
We're struggling here Mr President - Help us out!
Really? Are you just another sheeple looking to the government (even worse; the president) to solve and resolve our problems?
very good shibumi...you were reading - the responses at least!! btw, use of the (’s) is short for the word “is”. To describe a singular you would use the term “man is”. To describe a plural you would use the term “mans’ as a possesive verb. You never use the apostorphe s when the subject is a possesive verb. Also “Hute” is a global term which has multiple spellings based on its (again - possesive verb [plural])geographical location and translation. “Hoot” is the American version of the same word. it is also spelled ‘hute’ in some geopolitical global locations. All are verbs used to indicate a loud cry or, according to some global translation it means to “ignore a loud cry of scorn”. They are also related to various synonyms such as utter; emit; let out; and let loose. Nevertheless, thanks for pointing out the typos. by the way, is the use of ‘shibuma’ a representation of the novel by Trevania who’s -or ‘whose’ emphasis is to highlight the life of an assassin? I’m not critizing -or- criticising your online identity - I’m just curious. You don’t have to respond. I know to you my responses are vain and somewhat arrogant and they may indicate a defensive attitude however, to me they represent what I perceive to be your level of maturity base on your comments. Here’s - or ‘here is’ a tip for future responses.....If you want respect - show it - otherwise expect to receive what you’re -or- ‘you are’ expressing to others. In the meantime take care my friend and don’t read any more of my postings. You’re obviously not the intended audience.
April Fool's day is over. (If, in fact, your posting is not intended to be a joke, then lay off the mind altering substances.)
You spent most of your post to me responding to comments made by another poster.
As yet, you have not displayed the perceptive ability to grasp an esoteric concept such as "shibumi." I see no point in trying to explain it to you. That would be an act lacking in the very thing it tries to express.
As for your intended audience, I think you'll find them here.
you’re correct in the misposting - my apology. Take care and God bless.
