The term is actually ad hominem which is Latin for an argument made "toward the man" - i.e. an argument that takes the form of:

Specific person X says Y is the case.
But X is a jerk.
Therefore Y is not the case.

Surely, Lfc, you realize the irony of complaining about ad hominem arguments on a thread that is dedicated to singling out a specific person - George Soros - for abuse.

This thread is a masterclass in ad hominem reasoning from its very start.
