I understand how a cephalosporine antibiotic can cause an allergic reaction that will affect the skin for 30 days or more. In some cases it can be fatal. I don’t wish her ill will but on a lighter side, some of her antics made my skin crawl...turnabout is fair play.

No Epi in NC? I got some mountainous hives from Keflex and a dangerously narrowed windpipe but a shot of epi and an hour later I was good to go. Same thing happened to me in the Army only the culprit that time was Penicillin. Epi took care of it.

“Maybe someone spilled some Holy water on her.”
Wouldn’t she be treated for burns if that happened?

Judging by the looks of her and her life-style she may have had need of antibiotics, taken some, and boom...

Stevens-Johnson syndrome

http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/stevens-johnson-syndrome/basics/definition/con-20029623

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a rare, serious disorder of your skin and mucous membranes. It’s usually a reaction to a medication or an infection. Often, Stevens-Johnson syndrome begins with flu-like symptoms, followed by a painful red or purplish rash that spreads and blisters. Then the top layer of the affected skin dies and sheds.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a medical emergency that usually requires hospitalization. Treatment focuses on eliminating the underlying cause, controlling symptoms and minimizing complications.

Recovery after Stevens-Johnson syndrome can take weeks to months, depending on the severity of your condition. If it was caused by a medication, you’ll need to permanently avoid that drug and others closely related to it.

she now owns, if she chooses, the doctor who prescribed it.
Cephalexin is good for bacterial infections. Most sinus infections aren't bacterial, so antibiotics are mostly useless.

big study in 2012...if it’s viral, and 90% of sinus infections are viral, antibiotics are useless. And for most baterial sinus infections, antibiotics arn’t needed.

I was in the hospital for 11 days with a sinus infection that threatened to kill me—and when at home was on IV antibiotics. One winter I was on a low dose of antibiotics all winter just to keep me going. So study away. There is also a study that says the earth is warming, right?
