April 27, Crimea today.

Crimea is part of Ukraine since 1954. Decision to give Crimea to Ukraine was not determined by fact that Nikita Krushev was Ukrainian. It was necessity, totally economic decision and by the way in return Russia gained large territories of East Ukraine where millions ethnic Ukrainians living today. It was deal and not a gift.

This is how North Crimean channel look this days. This channel used to deliever 85% of water Crimea consume. Length of channel is few hundred kms, water delievered from Dniepre river in Ukraine.

This was channel before. Water flow is stopped few weeks ago after Crimean authorities failed to pay water bills and Russian militants raided through water pumping installations, they laid mines so now Ukrainian technicians can't access those installations. As result no water for whole Crimea.

Next is electric power. Crimean authorities do not pay debt mounting and Ukrainian power company keep cutting down electric power delivery.

Photo of empty grocery stores shelf, meat department in some city in Crimea. Photo look like Soviet Union stores. That's where Crimea is drifting, back to past. Two month ago they used to carry around those red Soviet flags. They say be careful with what you wish for you may get it so now they start getting it.

Empty beaches of South Crimea. Not even drunken Russian soldiers splash in water...

As you see everything goes according Putins plan of depopulating Crimea. What Russians need is territory for military bases. Any population is a burden that Putin getting rid of.

That's probably a lie. As far as I know, the water canal has been cut off yesterday by Kiev over 'outstanding water debts'.

Ukrainians are speculating whether it was yet another display of incompetence by the government or if the cutoff was on purpose.
