What kind of beating on a city street by strangers that leads to a trip to the hospital isn’t brutal?

She did not go to a hospital, she was “taken to a doctor.”
She was “examined for injuries” and all they can find is that her face is red.
I don’t know about you, but where I live, two or three good punches will do a lot more damage than that. A “red face” is what you get from a slap in a bar, not a “brutal beating.”
My point is simply that this is a sensationalized headline.
Was an ambulance called for her? Or did she just have a cab take her to the hospital in order to document that she got hit?
If she really was beaten by two guys, I would have expected her to have received more serious injuries than reported.
