Several men who served with Army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl in Afghanistan say Bergdahl deserted in 2009 before being captured by the Taliban. Bergdahl's release this weekend as part of an exchange with the U.S. for five top Taliban operatives who were being held in Guantanamo Bay has prompted those servicemen to speak out. Jake Tapper at CNN reports.

If at least one of these soldiers is black or homosexual, this story has a chance of breaking out into the mainstream. Otherwise, forget it.
I bet more "Americans" are pro-Taliban than are pro-homosexual, and look how well the homosexuals have done in getting themselves declared a protected class.

There, fixed it.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
* for promotion to Sergeant, a soldier must do at least three things...attend Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), successfully appear before a promotion board, and attain enough promotion points (given for awards, schools attended, etc.). As a PFC, he would not have done the first two, and it's doubtful he earned the points before he deserted. His two promotions were PR stunts, designed to make low-information types think this administration actually cares about our servicemen and women.
If anyone has any question about how much 0 hates America, they will get their answer with the next attack on our homeland perpetrated by one of the Taliban bigs that 0 released (illegally, btw) to get a deserter back.
O.M.G.
You are correct. Even when I was in, before promotion points came along, I was to E4 in six months, 1 year for E5, but I was also part of a very special and obscure group. Shortly after my E5, the new rules came down for the training and promotion points which would have made my ascension impossible for at least my third year in at the very earliest.
I am not sure about battlefield promotions or if they are even available, but that assumes one has done something heroic instead of self inflicted/orchestrated.
And he's REALLY mad!
Soon to be heard from the left: “They’re trying to Swiftboat him.”
With Al Quadia pretty much out of business, it may be the lone indiviual jihadi.
We better get out in front of this and hammer it, depriving Barry of a PR victory and making it into a PR failure.
Bergdahl must answer for his disappearance.
He may have been abducted while taking a leak.
He may have deserted.
I have little problem exchanging five fully vetted Gitmo prisoners for one innocent American soldier.
But if Bergdahl is not innocent, or if Obama is using this as an excuse to bypass the proper authorities to meet a campaign promise, then I have big problems with this.
