"Lone Survivor" Marcus Luttrell made this statement to The Blaze regarding the Taliban's decision to keep Bergdahl for five years: Thats the part that kind of got me off-guard, was the fact that they held him.
So why did they not kill him? Behead him?
Here's former Navy SEAL, Brandon Webb with Wolf Blitzer:

Bet there’s Boko (as in Boucou) Homo!
Gawd, that scene makes me wretch.
Days after the Taliban had fled the city of Kandahar, the Magnum photographer Thomas Dworzak discovered portraits of men in high-heeled sandals with make-up - a tradition of the native Pashtuns long noted for their flamboyancy - hanging up alongside photographs of Hollywood movie stars. With sultry poses in front of often garish backdrops, this is an illicit side of the Taliban, not expected to be exposed.
The Taliban's Secret Photos (Taliban=Homosexual Icons)
A Magnum photo essay. During his coverage of the fall of Afghanistan's Taliban regime in 2002, photographer Thomas Dworzak discovered a stash of pictures showing male Taliban members in curious, effeminate poses.
Ah sooo..
We always wonder what the idiot leftists THINK will happen if they sit around a campfire with muslims and toast marsh mellows. They think everything is going to be wonderful. And they think it right up to the time they’re beheaded. I have to believe Bergdahl thought the same way. I believe he was so worried when they turned him over because he thought they were taking him out to kill him.
Hold me closer, Tony Danza.
This is really hilarious. They kept him shaved clean as an insult to America. So his daddy grew a beard for nothing.
he was crying because he knew he’d miss his Taliban buddy
Is that him dancing? He’s got a nice line. Why in the world would someone like that go into the army? Good grief.
He may have used the shawl as a prayer rug.
is that pic of Bergdahl?????
There is speculation that he left his wife/wives (and children?) behind when he was handed back over to the USA (where he may face criminal prosecution).
Tears. Not of joy.
Interesting observation.
I hadn't heard that
amazing what you miss when you're offline for 14 hours.
Two things:
After I made my comment about the shawl possibly being a prayer rug, I read a few moments ago that Bergdahl had converted to Islam so it would make sense he would have a prayer shawl.
With respect to post #34 in re: “tears of joy”, I read when he was first turned over to our Special Forces, he wrote on a piece of paper and asked, “are you SF”? and then he cried as the article stated. I thought and wondered right then, were those tears of relief to be coming home or tears of fear and anguish at being caught as a deserter. I thought the latter.
Agree, he didn’t look very happy, so tears not joyful. He probably knows that he is or at least ought to be in Big Trouble.
I’m sorry to say, yes, that is a picture of Bergdahl. :(
