A U.S. Park Police officer found a body in Rock Creek Park early Friday. Roads in the area are closed while police investigate the death.
Park Police Lieutenant Brian Huss said the body was found around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Rock Creek Parkway and Cathedral Avenue. He said that little was known about the victim while the Metropolitan Police Department investigated.

And, yes, I searched the news before making the above statement.
Is it the CIA dude who got outed??
Rep Condit, can you account for your whereabouts last night?
Somebody got Fostered. Mombacide?
Wait until Bergdahl’s body is found in Ft Marcy park
They dug up Vince Foster?
And any father who praises allah in a speech at our Whitehouse is a traitor. It's called treason.
Rock Creek is on the Maryland side of the Potomac.
My thoughts as well. Not another Chandra Levy.
I believe some South or Central American was convicted of murdering Chandra but in my mind, Gary Condit could still have had something to do with it.
Hardly a bad area. This is in the lower portion of Rock Creek Park, with the National Zoo straight ahead if you stay on Rock Creek Parkway, and with exits leading up to Connecticut Avenue in a very upscale part of town.
The very heavily used jogging/biking trail crosses the exit road at this point. Since cars tend to take the turn rather fast, it is a high hazard spot for vehicle/non-motorized accidents. This story, however, says the body was discovered at 4:30 a.m. At that hour, anything is possible.
4:30 a.m. (actually earlier, since that is when the body was found) is awfully early for an unaccompanied jogger, particularly of the female persuasion, to be running in the park, but jogging is known to cause brain damage, so that is one possibility. If a jogger or cyclist, my guess would be that death occured well after dark the evening before, and the body was off the path, perhaps screened by trees or bushes, and not discovered until the next morning.
A dumped body is another possibility. A suicide is a third. Who knows. Rock Creek Park is large and heavily wooded. I imagine some undesirables camp there at night. Perhaps someone was sleeping under the bridge which crosses the park at that point, and a target of opportunity happened along.
