Never in 26 years of Army service have I seen an officer demoted to an enlisted rank= a commission to and enlistment? Hmm. Some one ad better quote some regs to this former enlisted SSG retired FG officer.
Officers are offered discharge in lieu of CM if minor, never “demoted” to a lessor rank/grade and certainly not to an involuntary enlisted contract....
Either CM or go home (admin separation for cause)...

I don’t know the reg. ‘cause I’m M.I. not admin., but I saw it with my own two eyes three times. Two, I heard, were some kind of RIFs, the other, as I described, was for a major security breach.
If they break their contract, they are done for. Involuntary demotion to E-6. We lost one 0-2 due to him ignoring the Army upon him finishing his degree. My PL seemed too smart, so I asked him why he was such a young E-7? His contract stipulated him being a MAJ “IF” he finished his JD and passed the bar. He didn’t. Now he’s an E-8 ready to retire. Contracts mean things.
