The line’s meaning is applicable in America in the sense that although the overwhelming majority of religious conservative Americans hate everything Jesus Christ preached and taught, calling themselves Christians and followers of Christ does not change the fact they are anti-Christ in every sense of the name.

“turning the other cheek” I read an analysis of this admonition by Jesus the other day. It said that a master would slap a slave on the left cheek as an insult. Turning the right cheek would be a sign of the slave the he should be slapped on the cheek of a free man, a child of God.
