Christians do not pretend to be perfect, or holy, or better than others.....Christians just know their sins....know that they are frail in this evil pandering world....
about the "supply and demand" remark however...I am in total agreement....if conservatives only, or Christians only, or just patriots only gave up their porn addictions there would be no porn industry, and there would be no young women trapped in a life of decadance and drug addiction....
as far as the morals of this country goes, many just need to look in the mirror.
I guess I'd better not admit too much of MY life before the age of 33 here in FR.
I read it through and I didn't get that impression at all. He was just describing the rewards the world can give, and how addictive they can be, when a person isn't grounded in Christ. He gave God all the credit for His grace and forgiveness.
I understand where he was coming from, trust me. In this sentence “For many years I confused God with the people who claimed to represent Him.” No Christians are not “perfect, or holy, or better than others...” but a lot of them have self righteous piety and make to strives to be holy.
What this man speaks of in his church as a lad, I saw in my former denomination growing up. I promise you that what I saw can lead to very bitter feelings that don’t go away.
This man was a jerk I can tell you that. He said what he said to former members of his church to be a jerk. He felt hurt by them so he set out to make them suffer as he was made to suffer. However as Confucius once said “when you embark on the journey of revenge dig two graves”
I am glad this man left this deathstyle. For him and his family.
