We can be armed to the teeth but it will still affect us.

If ya can’t go to work or the grocery store with out being in danger...it will affect us.

I read a book a long time ago about the conflict in Sarajevo. There was a long bridge people had to go over to get to work. It was surrounded by snipers that would pick people off as they crossed TO GET TO WORK.

One of the most marvelous things about this country is the relative safety. I pray we don’t lose it.

Its inevitable we will in terms of the long distance movement. You saw the Occutards. These parasites will be running around smashing windows and robbing old ladies. In small communities, it will probably be okay, but imagine what Chicago would look like in a collapse. The whole south side spilling into the rest of the city like toxic slime

... as long as you don't come close to city blocks where such safety is not provided. Even living near a public transit stop is a detriment sometimes.

When society breaks down, individuals assume institutional responsibilities.

Groceries are distributed by neighbors...not stores.

We barter for what we get...but life goes on.

Obama is naive and stupid. "His people" will be hurt most. But America will survive.

And as to relative safety. That is best provided by individuals. With everyone armed...there will be plenty of safety.

I wonder if we aren’t losing it already to a great extent. Ten years ago I flew with my pre-teen grandson and two friends from Houston to California and the four of us drove from San Diego up to San Francisco, spending lots of time visiting areas in between. Never thought of being afraid or concerned. Wouldn’t think of repeating that now, even if I was carrying.

Lots and lots of places in Houston I wouldn’t dream of driving through that several years ago I didn’t think a thing about.

My world has gotten a whole lot smaller and I pay attention to everyone and everything around me. I often ask myself if it is because I’m older and feel more vulnerable or because there are now more situations that are beyond my control because of societal changes.

Seems cruel and unfair that snipers would target and kill people going to work. And it was.

But there were also snipers picking off these snipers.

Just an all around hateful, miserable situation.
