The guy was warned about giving away food 5 times before he was fired. In my book that’s about 3 warnings more than he should have gotten. If he was so concerned about feeding other people with food that didn’t belong to him he should have bought the food first.
And by the way, what does the fact that he’s a veteran have to do with anything?
Just to remind the usual Scrooges here, we’re talking about packets of mayonnaise and a couple of lousy CB muffins. We are not talking about free meals, free steaks, etc. Or a free bottle of gin.
The guy showed that he had no intention of following policy. He was given plenty of warnings. At some point they have to take action. He has no one to blame but himself.
