Most of the RINOs are all in for amnesty, including the governors of a lot of states, along with their state governments. Both parties are fighting over that sweet pool of slave labor coming up to “el norte”, and the business interests financing these politicians want to see some results.

Want to stop illegals from overrunning the border? Kneecap the ag lobby, and the US CoC. Throw in the trade unions and social service caseworkers too.

Yup, another Booshie Shamnesty loser.

That's completely false. Walker in SoConPubbie's link was clearly talking about the need to welcome those with skill sets who would contribute to the U.S. This is also Ted Cruz's position.

Me? I vehemently oppose amnesty and also would like to see a moratorium on legal immigration, but I can understand Walker's point. Also bear in mind that Walker is not a declared candidate other than his re-election for Governor.

there is changing positions because he immediately took heat from the conservative base.

No, he simply took the standard position of most Republicans (including Ted Cruz) and the leftist media took it out of context.

There are two kinds of Republican candidates for President:

1. Current or ex-Governors who are experienced in running a large executive branch. Governors who, in order to govern, had to make some concessions to the opposition such as raising a tax or allowing some money to be spent on boondoggles. Governors who almost always seem to "learn" (presumably from those that give them money) that following the rule of law or the Constitution is not that clear cut an issue, e.g. maybe it's OK to give amnesty to illegals.

2. Senators or Congressmen that come from safe Republican districts that can afford to hold the most satisfyingly conservative positions and support those positions with the most glorious and inflammatory (towards liberals) rhetoric. Senators and Congressmen who also have absolutely no experience running a large executive enterprise and who would most likely be run by their staff if they ever won office.

Basically we are hosed. In the past, great individuals were able to run large executive enterprises without compromising their core principles. This does not appear to be the case today.

Those who support Cruz or Paul are similar to those who supported DeLay. They are supporting someone who agrees with them 100%, or at least appears in public to support them 100%. Cruz and Paul can say whatever they want. They come from safe seats. But what would they be like if they won the presidency?

Reagan had executive experience before moving into the Whitehouse. He was able to carve out a space for himself to move and remain rock solid conservative on some of the most important issues. However, even he was unable to resist the impulse to make concessions that have been very damaging to this country, e.g. 1986 illegal alien amnesty.

Cruz seems to be made of strong enough stuff to remain true to his principles, but if he were to be elected would he be able to keep all of his troops on message? Or would he end up being the slave of neocon assistants and advisors?

I’m a Palin supporter. I’m just pointing out the fact that Cruz supports legal immigration with virtually no restrictions. He’s never talked about the need to focus on a Euro-centric policy, which was the case prior to Ted Kennedy’s disastrous 1965 co-sponsored law. America was built by immigrants from Western Europe. That is simply a fact and is in no way Stormfrontesque-racist.

Scott Walker is squishy and wishy-washy on many controversial issues. He is what he is, even though he stood firmly against the unions. He is an establishment-type and he is close friends with Reince Priebus, as he ran the Wis GOP when he lived in Wisconsin. Unless we push Ted Cruz to the fore in the primaries, the alternatives are all squishy GOP-e’s.

I'm going to have to re-read and re=evaluate every one of your posts in light of your newly revealed bias.

My opinion of you has just changed for the worst.

Your "hatchet job" was uncalled for.

"But, based on my long history of being right about who actually opposes mass legalization"

Keep heaping praise on yourself.

You are starting to make me nauseous.
