So? If we can’t handle treating an Ebola doctor at our top Ebola center, then you seem to be thinking that the first Ebola patient we get off the streets spells the end for us.
We seem to have been dealing with infecting monkeys with the Ebola virus, for years.
Oh! We have a top Ebola center too! That's wonderful! Where are our lesser Ebola centers and why don't we get this Dr. moved out of the non-descript hospital and into the Top Ebola center right away?
The monkey’s infection came from a small sample stored in extreme cold under armed guard in a vault designed for containment. The monkey, after use, was incinerated to ensure nothing got out.
That’s rather different from someone walking in infected and, we hope (!), walking out.
We’re not treating the guy like a disposable monkey.
“We seem to have been dealing with infecting monkeys with the Ebola virus, for years.”
Are you thinking of the Reston ebolavirus that was featured in ‘The Hot Zone’?
If so, that virus is closely related to the Ebola that infects humans but is itself not pathogenic to humans.
