AUGUST 29, 2014 Teachers Hate Poor Kids In Florida, union goons line up to beat down poor minority families By Kevin D. Williamson
Alberto Carvalho, the highly regarded Miami-Dade schools superintendent, jokes that he wants to be the most underpaid public servant in the country. Underpaid? Public-school types keep using that word; I do not think that it means what they think it means.
I dont really want to beat up on Carvalho, who seems to be a pretty good guy doing some pretty good things. But bottom lines matter. Under the leadership of the districts (underpaid) $320,000-a-year superintendent, who has a $4 billion budget at his disposal, a fifth of Miamis tenth-graders still read so poorly that, in the bland words of the education bureaucracy:
Performance at this level indicates an inadequate level of success with the challenging content of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for reading. Carvalho blames this on diversity, the fact that many Miami students are learning English. Reasonable enough. But 54 percent of Miami-Dades tenth-graders get Floridas lowest rating for math, and multiplicación de fracciones is what it is in any language.

Just a lowly public servant
Nice salary for sending a bunch of emails, going to a couple of meetings a week, and attending open bar receptions.
My mother and uncle both graduated from Miami-Edison in 1951. No illiterates made it anywhere near a diploma back then. She became a housewife and he went on to found a chain of banks and was a friend of President Nixon.
I knew a died-in-the-wool commie teacher who hated the kids he had to teach.
My fifth grade teacher told me I had to come to school in the very best dress I had, not the raggedy one. My Mother bought each one of us three changes of clothing for school, not good enough for the clothing police. I went into my Mom’s closet and took a dress I had worn three years earlier to family wedding as flower girl... Idiot teacher told me “now that is how you need to dress every day for school”. Really? I cannot even begin to describe the stress this idiot pressed on me each and every day I went to school.
The feeling is mutual. I hated most of my teachers too.
We don’t want to even begin to count the total per-year compensation when pension, retirement healthcare, and the like are added in.
I hated most of my teachers too.
I went to school long enough to get a BS, yet never hated any teachers.
Tell me why you did. ...I have an MA and Only hated my teachers from the public schools.. Once I went to a Catholic school (as a Protestant)I wasn’t told how stupid I was everyday, didn’t get bullied or hectored by teachers, didn’t get told “Your father is just a steelworker so that’s all you’ll ever be” and found out that I really enjoyed learning. After my Service time, I went to college and went on to my Masters where I got QPA’s of 3.9. Pretty decent for a steelworker.
Why would you hate most of your teachers? I had some lousy teachers I despised in pursuit of my eventual college degree, but I certainly didn’t dislike more than a few.
You wanna know WHAT is WRONG with the ENTIRE “Education””Establishment” in the World, THIS:

DAMN Krauts has SCREWED UP EVERYTHING they TOUCH!
Teachers always complain about being underpaid- but Google is our friend. Go by any school during working hours and see how many old cars are in the teacher parking area.

Oh, no. At LEAST they were competent. And the rulers were only twelve inches long (if you needed them). Public school teachers tipped your chair over, called you names, threatened you and beat you with open hands. Maybe you weren;t in school for the mid- 60’s?
