The FDR-HST Administrations we loaded to the gills with Commies.

That's absolutely right and history confirms that as undeniable fact. It took a truly good man, a real Patriot and genuine war hero, Senator Joe McCarthy, to expose the enemy within. Time has shown that McCarthy was correct. Leftists take glee in pictures such as the one shown here:

While they think they are mocking our great Texas Senator Ted Cruz, the reality is that being called a McCarthyite is actually high praise indeed. America desperately needs Round Two of McCarthism to ferret out the subversive elements undermining our Republic: commies, muzzies and 'RATs.

Roosevelt’s New Deal - like Wilson’s War - was a complete disaster.

“We Do Our Part” what a load of rubbish.

“The so-called “Great Depression” was a necessary correction and would have resolved itself in due time had Hoover not caved and started a program of needless public works projects. Because Herbert Hoover was, in many ways, a RINO, he veered off course and attempted to meddle with the free market.”

The same can be said of our recent “Great Recession”. Dubya and Obama’s meddling has prolonged and worsened what would have otherwise been an unpleasant, but short, correction.

Ken Burns is the DNC’s Leni Riefenstahl.

Roosevelt was a pampered boy at home. When he struggled to fit into the crowd at school, he was not happy. I think a lot of his social engineering and deliberate communist/socialist policies were a way of getting back at the rich Republican kids who rejected him.

I never heard about a few of the remarks made in this article. I always thought Joseph Lash was just a good friend of Eleanor's and still do. As for Lorena Hickok, I still don't believe the rumors. I thinks Eleanor was naïve about a lot, and befriended many people. She had a good heart, and meant well.

Franklin was in over his head, and was swayed by the wrong people with the wrong policies. He had a wave of supporters similar to those that Obama had early on when they believed that these men were the answer to all of their problems. My opinion.

Ken Burns has a way of softening the reality, but I am enjoying the program anyway.

The book I read that really set the record straight was Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and his Fight Against America’s Enemies by M. Stanton Evans.

Have you read that book?

Burns has Z-E-R-O credibility as a historian. He is a liberal political propagandist for the left. He donates exclusively to the Democrats and an important portion of his income relies upon Federal grants and subsidies.

He is a huge fan of Obama and a defender of the indefensible Affordable Care Act.

I doubt that he will air anything about Teddy’s views on eugenics and race related matters.

I saw the first segment Sunday evening. Ran for three hours. So far FDR just had minor stuff about him. I’ve read histories on FDR ... to me not a likable character politically and emotionally. I’ve been to Warm Springs, GA and saw the house and room where he died. Fairly well done museum. I’ll see how Burns pulls this off ....

That’s about right.

I think FDR was a Democrat because his father was a staunch Democrat.

On economics, Hoover was, on the conceptual level, not much better than FDR. He jawboned for higher wages; he spent like crazy (until FDR re-defined “crazy”); and raised the tariff and the income tax. If Harding or Coolidge had been in office, the depression of 1930 would have been over by mid-1931.

Let me add to your choices “The Roosevelt Myth” by John Flynn. Flynn covered Roosevelt from the beginning and printed the truth with this book after Roosevelt died in 1945. The 2nd edition he did in the 1950’s allowed him to add more facts than he had in the first one.

Not that anyone was paying attention or watching closely, but during Obama’s nomination acceptance speech in 2012, the teleprompter kid recited lines from FDR about the need for “radical experimentation” by the US government to reboot the American economy.

Kenneth Lauren Burns, the effeminate man who can barely grow a beard who said the Duke Lacrosse students were “three rich white boys who were mildly inconvenienced by rape charges”.

Yes, I read it about 5 or 6 years ago when I heard Glenn Beck talking about it. It's a compelling read, filled with well-documented facts and thoroughly researched.

What the lying commie Edward (not even his real name) R. Murrow did to the reputation of Senator McCarthy is unforgivable. The low-information public of the 50s bought the lies of the Murrow-Friendly duo. The well-informed Patriots of then and now take term McCarthyite as high praise.

By the way if you want to see a movie on FDR watch Bill Murray play him in “Hyde Park on the Hudson”. It’s actually pretty good and Murray did a great job playing FDR.

I hope Ted Cruz has read Trevor Loudon’s books on how the Communists have taken over the Democrat party and the Congress. (I mean, “taken over” even more than they had 70 years ago.)

Let me guess, he also whitewashes the fact that FDR tacitly assisted by non-action Hitler’s near extermination of the Jews and actively acted to stop Jewish immigration into the USA, thereby dooming them to their fate.

True story, though I don’t have the source handy:

Eleanor and Franklin are sitting down to lunch.

Eleanor says she just got back from the doctor.

“Did he tell you what you could do about that fat ass of yours.”

“No, my dear. Your name never came up.”
