I didn’t see any pagan quote. But think you could give it a rest criticizing the thoughts of someone who’s brain is literally under attack? Thoughts do come from the brain, ,,,sometimes at least.
And the suicide straight to hell is a Catholic thing anyway. For extra credit, explain why the people who jumped out of the world trade center all went to hell. Did they owe it to God to accept being burned alive?

Of course, when a person is being burned alive, or feels absolutely intolerable heat from a fire, he has no freedom. No rational person believes the jumpers at the WTC went to hell for “suicide.”

You ask a question the morons cannot answer.

The Catholic Church does not say that all suicides go direct to Hell. Only those who have the clarity of thought necessary to make the decision fully cognizant of the fact that they are throwing away God's gift of life. It is believed that most suicides are part of a larger illness like depression or psychosis. It has been a long time since the Church has stated what you believe.

As for the poor people who chose to jump instead of burn to death, they did not commit suicide. They where murdered. They where fleeing from the onslaught of flame as best they could. They had no choice in the matter.

Ms. Maynard bot only was fully conscious of her act, she also broadly publicized it for the further aggrandizement of an act that is one of desperation and self murder. It was not only an act that was likely wrong, it was also raveled in by those who participated in it bringing great publicity to an evil enterprise, intentional self murder.

Suicide straight to hell is not a Catholic teaching. Catholic teaching is that suicide is a grave sin but the culpability of the person committing suicide depends on things such as the person’s state of mind. Also a person who commits suicide has the possibility of reconciling themselves with God in their dying moments.

Objectively though, a Catholic who fully knows the teaching of the Church and who commits suicide without any type of extenuating circumstances will go straight to Hell.

“Suicide straight to hell as a catholic thing” is about as medieval a concept as the inquisition

Not that medieval-minded folks (even priests and ministers) don’t still exist to carry out their perceived mission of judging men on earth and bringing hell and guilt to the families of the dead

There is compassion and understanding of mental illness
Brittany was a soul who could not bear the torture of dying in helpless agony (stage 4 glioblastoma is an agonizing death and the only release is an eventual overdose of morphine that leads to come in an effort to stop the pain)

Judge her no more than judge the people who jumped from the WTC rather than burn to death. She chose to go to her maker in her time, not His. If this is condemnable to hell as arrogance or (self) murder then what type of God do we worship?

Easy. The point at which people jump from a burning building is the point of imminent incineration, when the super hot gasses or out right flames drive them. Stopwatch-wise they may be extending their consciousness by some seconds.
