Could this be a workable strategy?

We know the dems in congress care about their power, prestige, and privilege. Perhaps they could be convinced that, in the long run, they have more to lose by not impeaching than they do by voting for impeachment?

It might be best coming from those they believe are “on their side”, and by that I mean, not the Tea Party/hard right/conservative letter writers, but by the rank and file among their own, those in their own party, whispering to them in the back rooms that it is better to impeach and run away, so they can live to fight another day.

Our task would be to figure out how to get to those in a position to persuade the persuaders that we are worried about the preservation of the democrat/liberal goals, since these could be lost by the far left’s overreach.

Some dissembling might be needed.
