Why are not the storeowners defending their property? Are they going to be satisfied with an insurance payout? I always thought Missouri had manlier men than that.

I suspect the corporate masters have told them to leave the property, corporate will indemnify losses. It would be a disaster if one of their managers shot a protest person. PR disaster, that is.

Another FReeper pointed out last week that insurance policies probably do not cover riots. So even the ones that have insurance are screwed.

They are so self deceptive at DU. They are INSISTING that the cops are provoking peaceful protesters into “losing it” with tear gas. I guess that’s why they are running off with all those cell phones and TV sets.
If I were in charge that’s what I’d do. If I wasn’t allowed to actually stop them (by doing something politically incorrect) I’d protect the police and fire stations and let them burn the rest of it down. At that point who cares?
