The Michigan GOP is taking a lesson from the national GOP establishment on this one: When all the appropriated funds run out after doing a terrible job in the first place, blame it on everybody but themselves, raise taxes even more claiming it is temporary - and then when that is not enough blame it on taxpayers for not being generous.

I see nice, new, smooth paved bike paths popping up all over, and those of us who pay to drive on the roads get our teeth rattled in our heads.

Seriously failed logic as they are riding on the coattails of lower gas cost and betting taxpayers won’t notice the increased tax as long as oil prices decline or stabilize. Look for a future “crisis” when oil costs go back up and higher gasoline costs are blamed on the evil oil companies. By then these politicians will have convenientally forgotten their incremental addition to the cost of gas and burden passed on to the taxpayer.
