Technically it is the earth blocking light from getting to the moon.

A “Solar Eclipse” happens when the moon blocks the sunlight and only happens in certasin areas onthe earth due to the shadow the moon casts on earth to be smaller since the moon is smaller than the earth.
You are correct, I mean total Lunar Eclipse. It’s still astronomy, NOT astrology. :)
