According to that narrative, Obama is an above-average president who has encountered some difficulties while navigating a difficult passage in trying times. And racism. And right-wing haters.

Almost half of this country couldn’t figure out how to make a ham sandwich if they had a personal chef managing them. It is no wonder that that same segment of the population is dependent on government for at least part of their livelihood and our hence very receptive to suggestion about what they should believe. Liberals like the plantation and don’t want to risk losing the milk from the tit or the cow that it comes from.
In today’s America, Adolf Hitler or Josef Stalin could get a 45% approval rating if they had a “D” after their name.
