A classic example, Rocket 88, considered the first true Rock n Rol song, done by Ike Turner in his "jazzy" R&B style Bill Haley covered this song with more of a "rockabilly" sound. Also Brown Eyed Handsome Man and Slippin and Slidin, big hits for Chuck Berry and Little Richard were written originally performed by Buddy Holly.
