Russia is a one party state rogue regime killing thousands while rampaging across Europe, threatening nuclear war, flying military aircraft with transponders off, assassinating with nuclear material, claiming parts of the arctic, etc., etc.
If responding to these type of threats is not “our business” nothing is.
