Anyone could still click on either “boy” or “girl” toys to get that kind of toy.
Amazon is taking it further - they don’t want to even acknowledge the existence of a difference.
just a little bummed out by the bombardment of insanity. still voting Cruz.
I FEEL MACRO-AGGRESSED against!
I just went to Amazon and typed in “girl toys”. All I got were pink toys.
I saw the headline, went to Amazon, did a search on “toys for boys” and was given the choice of several categories of boys based upon age, and clicking, sure enough: super heroes, nerf guns, etc.
They hate heteros. Stop the hate. Don’t they celebrate diversity? /s
I thought the left believed wearing a dress means you are a girl. Now they’re saying there’s no difference?
I don’t want to suffer from mesothelioma so I won’t put on my flame retardants. Still, go easy on me.
LET KIDS PLAY WITH WHAT TOYS THEY WANT.
I know boys who love to play with dolls and ponies, and girls who love Legos and dinosaurs. Mostly, it’s the other way around, but a lot of kids are in the middle or prefer the others.
LET THEM BE.
Playing with toys that the other gender often prefers does not change a child from straight to gay. They are children and they prefer what they prefer. Allow them to like what they like. You are allowed to like what you like. Respect their choice of toys.
Here the link since you haven’t done your homework. The selections for boys’ and girls’ toys is on the menu line.
Why do businesses feel the need to alienate 99.9% of their customers with this?
Amazon is provoking me.
Searched for “barbies for boys” at Amazon and got mostly Weber, some CharmGlow, and a smattering of Green Eggs.
Amazon has gone seriously downhill the past few years. Their search sucks, their extension of 3d-party vendors to sell on Amazon sucks, their use of USPS to deliver on the weekends has been a disaster. And last, but not least, their Prime isn’t worth a damn anymore.
Since I found everything at Amazon to be easy when it comes to choosing a search for boys or girls toys, I think that maybe it ain’t the “voice of God” talking to you Julio - too bad so many here will take your trash at face value...
In the area labeled Toys, Kids & Baby, the subcategories were:
Toys & Games
Baby
Video Games for Kids
Amazon Mom
Baby Registry
Kids Birthdays
For Girls
For Boys
For Baby
Putting toys in the search bar brought up many of those same options, but for this exercise, I just selected Toys.
On the left hand side where you can refine your search by things such as Prime eligible, by price, age range, by seller, toy interest, character, customer reviews, etc., there was also the option to select Department - Girls or Department Boys.
I note that some search refinements such as age range and brand had check boxes next to them, indicating that you can select multiple boxes in one search while others such as the Department (Girls or Boys) and toy interest (Animals and Nature, Fashion, Learning, Sports, etc.) and toy character did not. But that sort of makes sense if the default search includes both boy and girl toys, why would Amazon give you the search option of selecting with a check box, both boy and girl toys. The search option is still there, it just isnt a check box format.
Once I selected the Department Girls, I could further refine my search by many of the above categories such as age range and interest. Selecting the Girls department and age range of 5-7 brought up 75,306 results for Toys & Games : Girls : 5 to 7 Years. On the first page, some of those results were for toys that could be for either boys or girls gender neutral, most seemed to be decidedly more girly like Fashion Head Bands and My First Sewing Kit. When I changed to the Boys department with the same age range, on the very first page while there were gender neutral items, many were decidedly more boyish, items like ZOOB Mobile Car Designer and Creativity for Kids Monster Trucks Custom Shop and 35TH Anniversary Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots Game.
I think you just do not understand how on-line shopping searches in general and Amazon in particular work. And as I find way too often with you bloggers (and the same goes for paid professional journalists for that matter), your research is sloppy.
