His departure from public life was nasty, dramatic and well-documented. But former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona got out of prison this week in a far different manner:
Quietly, and somewhat mysteriously.
Carona, 59, has left a federal prison medical center in Lexington, Ky., said Kenny Coleman, the center’s camp administrator, on Thursday. Carona served 52 months of a 66-month sentence for felony witness tampering.

Never heard of him.
IIRC, he was the sheriff who caught one of those child killers out in California many years ago.....
and yet he will continue to collect a $195,000 per year pension.

#5 this just isn’t right on two accounts. No one should get a taxpayer financed pension of that size and no convicted state employee should be allowed to collect a pension after being convicted of criminal activity.
