While one might be able to argue that Wicca is old, Satanism is a different thing, and it was basically invented about 50 years ago as a social statement. It's a stretch for anyone to call it a religion in any sense.
It's a childish protest against Christianity. Nothing more than that.

I’m not sure Wiccans really know what they’re practicing because there doesn’t appear to be any line that carried it down through the ages.
Most of what they practice was made up in the last 30 or 40 years.
