ObamaCare is a forced tax on the middle class to pay for the swelling ranks of Medicaid enrollees under threat of cash penalty payments. It’s nothing but legalized extortion.

I’d rather have a catastrophic policy with a 5-6K deductible for total hospital care for 250 a month like I used to have before they became illegal. I’ll worry about regular doctors visits myself.

Bronze plans have the 4-6 grand deductible, 50% co-pays on everything and 400 dollar plus monthly premiums.

Totally useless.

If you’re single and think you might be able to afford up to $6,300 in medical bills each year (the bronze plan deductible for individuals), but are not sure you would be able to after having already forked over five thousand dollars (or so) in government mandated health insurance premiums upfront, you’re not alone.

This is the kicker (and not just if you are single). Many people can afford the cost of health insurance premiums OR medical care up to the deductible ... but not both at the same time ... and every year.

This is why so many were 'uninsured' before or carried only catastrophic plans, which are now outlawed but are really the same as the Bronze plans except the insurance companies are raking in the premiums, mostly paid to them via the US Government via the taxpayers.

We are not getting good value for our money either as individuals or as taxpayers. Meanwhile the insurance industry is on a never ending protectionist gravy train.
