**** “According to WAPO, “the elite cadre of British cops who are entrusted with guns almost never use them. Police in Britain have fatally shot two people in the past three years.” They then report that shooting two people in three years is “less than the average number of people shot and killed by police every day in the United States over the first five months of 2015.” ****

Question that needs to be asked ... How many of these elite went home to their families after their shift?

TT

I would say it depends on who they are dealing with. On the whole, I would agree.

We need PEACE OFFICERS, not LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. The mentality difference is why we are having the problems we are having today with everyday encounters with cops by people who are assumed to be criminals from the beginning. When calling the cops to your house becomes an avenue for regular people needing help being shot, people having medical issues being shot because they won’t “obey commands”, when the first inclination is to SHOOT, and revenue collection is the next objective, we are not dealing with PEACE OFFICERS. When the only standing order is everything went fine (including dead homeowner who thought criminal thugs were invading his home at 3 am) as long as all the officers go home, you aren’t dealing with PEACE OFFICERS.

I have cops in the family, I know what happens to people after 20 years on patrol. I know the mentality shift.

Americans are actually becoming afraid of cops showing up, anywhere, for any reason.

Calling the cops used to be the way to make the drama end, you were calling for the calm to come and settle the men down, now, the results are sometimes unimaginable to Americans old enough to remember the past.

A growing number of people are thinking that calling the cops today is to invite chaos, death, and destruction into your family home, and that whatever the issue is with uncle Harry, that it can’t be as bad as getting people killed and thousands of dollars worth of damage to the house and the cars in the driveway, and the dogs being executed.

Even carrying a couple of thousands dollars to go buy something, has people not hoping to see plenty of cops on the way to make them feel safe, but instead terrified that a cop will rob them.

What’s the population of the UK compared to this country? Every one of these liberals, socialists and communists always want to compare us with Europe. If they are so enamored with the European countries, why in the hell don’t just move there? We left Europe because we didn’t like the way they were doing things. And we built a country very different from Europe.

I wonder if there’s any relationship between unarmed Brit cops and Brit children being gang-raped by Muslims?

Just curious if there’s a causal relationship there....

The courts could help the police by shooting, hanging, electrocuting, and/or poisoning more criminals.

But they’re too corrupt to be trusted with the responsibility so the police have to bear it.

The police are following this advice in selected localities, for example, Baltimore. Next week, WaPo will run an OpEd running the other direction.

American people can help themselves by shooting more, and waiting for the police to show up less.

Tuco’s rule: “When you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.”

Police behavior begins with their training and department policies of conduct and the use of force. If these things concern anyone, I suggest they attend their city council meetings and become involved in shaping municipal police policy toward what it is they want?

Most people are clueless about how police are selected, trained to policies and rules, monitored for compliance to those rules, outfitted and with what and for what purpose, local judges and their abandonment of any oversight of warrants, etc.....
