Yep; might as well put a fork in the flag. I grew up in Alabama the Confederate flag was never more than a history issue. Dukes of Hazards probably made the flag more popular than it ever was.
I don't get the politicians that fight these goons on the flag. As you said, that ship has sailed and it is best to put the Flag in the museums and history books where it belongs. The libs and dems will try to hang this issue around every Republicans neck for the next election.
