Explain “license your patent”.

Patents are an “offensive”weapon, it only gives you the right to sue. Ask Bill Gates about stopping knock-offs.
I had a buddy patent an item in the late 90’s. It was $12k US, $80k intl. (defending a patent is $500k). He got investors, got the patents, wouldn’t sell to an interested party, and rode it into the ground to BK.
I invented a product for BMW motorcycles, and didn’t have the bucks to patent. Took it to market, sold around the world, and made me a 1/2%er for inventions that make money.

I too believe that speed to market, and the ability to undercut competition, is the best path for most inventions.

I have 3 new inventions to launch. I’m going to file my own patents as a micro-entity now, only to get patent pending. It will keep US companies at bay.

The patent office has teams that can guide you. Once you get Patent Pending, shop it to the end user. (municipalities?)
