I’d have booed him too, if I had been there. I truly despise it when musicians use the stage to voice their (usually ignorant) politics. Yeah, they have a right to their opinion, but I didn’t pay gobs of money to listen to it when you’re supposed to be playing music.
The worst I’d ever experienced was at a Roger Waters concert in the late 80s. I was expecting it, given what a git Waters is, but it was worse than I’d feared. He took time out from the show to take audience questions, and answered pretty much all of them with Iran-Contra this, Reagan warmonger that, yadda, yadda. I was like “shut up and play Comfortably Numb!”
I agree. Everyone is entitled to their own belief.
How stupid is it to piss off half of your fans. Ask the Dixie Chicks about that little gem.
