Having grown up in Central Africa, it is most curious to me to see all the hand ringing about “endangered species.”

Like the “we are running out of space” idiots in the 1980s (who, apparently never look out the window when flying over fly over country), most people whining about endangered species have no earthly idea, other than quoting leftist “animal rights” groups.

Having seen the migrations of animals from the air, I can assure you, the animals in Africa (lions included) are not “endangered.” If someone wants to pay to shoot a rino or a lion, take their money. A rino or a lion hunt indeed takes courage. More than New York journalists have.

While I have no qualms about hunting, I just can’t compare Teddy’s expeditions, in which it truly was an hazardous adventure, taking many months to crossing the oceans to get to the deepest, wilds of Africa, often on foot in what we would call primitive conditions.

To a jet setting dentist, that hops on an air conditioned comfort in a Learjet to “trekking” across the veld in modern vehicles on asphalt roads to literally shoot an animal from the back seat of Mercedes, have a cocktail and split for home.

Hardly the stuff of legendary tales to brag about around a “campfire”
